Why “Who is Martina?” rather than “About Martina”?
The choice for this heading is directly linked to one of the core
question that has shaped my life. All
throughout my conscious life, I have attempted to define who I AM as opposed to what others thought I needed to be or do. DOING was the driving force in my family of origin. BEING is a foreign concept does not exist in their vocabulary. Having been born into a family where I always
felt as an outsider, in a community where I never belonged, in a social,
religious, and cultural setting that appeared to do the best to define me
rather than allowing me to define myself, I have worked very steadily towards
unrevelling the veils of illusion that surround me.
The discovery I have made on this journey, which has taken
me through several countries, languages, cultures, histories, careers,
relationships, health challenges and more, sounds very simply.
I AM. I am just
me. I define myself foremost through my
being, being in the present moment, being in the NOW, as detached from outcome
and ego as possible, ready to listen, ready to hold a sacred space for myself
and all around me. Living consciously
and mindfully at all times, breathing consciously and with full awareness of
the all our connectedness. It is in my
BEINGNESS that I can offer certain skills, which can be seen simply as tools to
allow others to develop their own connection with themselves through conscious
awareness.
Doesn’t that sound simple?
The concept certainly is and has existed for centuries. Nothing new about any of that!
However, the daily living of it, the actual BEINGNESS is a
constant journey, steadily evolving since each moment in time differs from the
next. Sometimes we need help along that journey. Honesty, integrity, an open mind,
a willingness to work on ourselves, and an eagerness to live authentically are
all that is needed on that journey.
Doesn’t that sound exciting or at least tempting? If you are interested in gettting unstuck or unstressed, would like to get moving again, or stop running in circles, and find a way to get into, create and be in the flow of life, then I might be the right person to work with you and to accompany on
a stretch of your journey.
